Retention

Retention is calculated retrospectively, counting the number of times/ratio a certain metric reappears over a subsequent period.
Retention supports both date and non-date dimensions.
There are two outcomes of retention calculation:

• Retention Count
• Retention Rate
  

Date Dimension Retention

The smallest date dimension aggregation supported by retention calculation is "day," and the largest is "year."

Non-Date Dimension Retention

Non-date dimension retention requires specifying the selected time, i.e., the calculation time, as well as the retention period for comparison.

Retention supports three types of retention periods:
